  Eighteen North Carolina Subvets participated in Newton's Old Soldiers' Parade on August 18, 2011.
During our usual pre-parade moment of prayer, Chaplain Bill asked for prayers for Pat Collins, Bill Morris, Howie Rice, Austin Rich (Austin, a barber in Cary for the past 56 years and a Marine, passed away Monday), Don Small, and Pauline Stank (whose husband Ed is a member of USSVI in South Carolina), and Joyce Werner. The parade was well “spectated” and relatively cool.
The captain with Chaplain Bill is/was a Navy Chaplain, who rode on the VFW float in front of us.
